Upravljanje vremenom / Time management

No, baza svih uspješnih biznisa jest umijeće ovladavanja upravo tom ključnom vještinom – samoorganizacijom i upravljanjem vremenom.

Time management

For any entrepreneur, time management is a skill that, in my experience, not many of them question. Mostly, entrepreneurs notice that something is bothering them – either they don’t know what, or they don’t know how to make a change. However, the basis of all successful businesses is the ability to master this key skill – self-organization and time management.

What does time management even mean?

Successful time management would mean that we, as individuals, distribute the time and related tasks in one day in such a way that we get the best possible results from the time invested and the actions taken to achieve the set goals.

For me, it is the basis of all planning – paper and pen and writing everything I have to solve, do, do in every single day, week, i.e. month. Every day there are changes and unplanned activities, but there are also numerous obligations that are fixed. Especially for us in the accounting and financial profession, many important dates are known months in advance.

Like me, you have heard countless times that we all have the same number of hours in the day at our disposal. But not everyone uses them in the same way. This tells us that those who manage their time more skillfully, and achieve their results more successfully (perhaps even faster), still know something more than those who are not so skilled and successful.

One of the techniques that has helped me tremendously is self-reflection. I analyze everything I do and draw results from it, and based on the results I come to conclusions. The results that are useful to me – I keep them, the ones I am not satisfied with – I change my approach.

In addition to work, you should also include time for yourself, for rest, for family, for socializing, for relaxation, for travel…

What can destroy the entire structure of self-organization for anyone in one day are various distractors. What do I count as distractors or time stealers? It’s when you’re constantly on email and scatter your focus and attention, when you’re on your mobile phone, scrolling, texting, and you can solve the same thing with a short call, sometimes you spend hours on social networks getting information about other people’s lives, you don’t choose who and what are you giving your time to, holding too long meetings, sometimes unnecessary ones…

We women are known for being able to multitask. But ask yourself what this multitasking actually brings you? To do two things at once or to finish none of them?

The next tool that is used and that I will present to you is – delegation. Delegating does not mean that you simply transfer a task to someone and then wish that everything works at the level of “you read my mind and you know what you need to do”. Rather, delegating means that some scheduled procedure with clearly defined expectations, goals, instructions and tasks transfer to a person skilled enough to perform these tasks according to your instructions and expectations.

Let me know how these techniques help you in your daily self-organization.

Count on success!
